WE ARE HURTADO BARBECUE

We serve slow-smoked central Texas style barbecue with a Tex-Mex twist.

From serving barbecue at pop-up events across north Texas to opening three brick and mortar locations in two years, Hurtado Barbecue is an explosive success story that began with a simple passion for the pit. Brandon Hurtado and his wife Hannah started serving barbecue in 2018 to hungry brewery-goers in Arlington, Denton and Fort Worth, and after about a year of grueling experience in the pop-up events scene, they graduated to a food truck in 2019 at Division Brewing in Arlington. Open only on Saturdays for lunch, the food truck was an instant hit in Downtown Arlington, which forced the Hurtado family to expand their hours after only a few months.

A short time later, the Hurtados agreed to open their first brick and mortar location in Downtown Arlington, which is located inside of a tiny, 120-year old building and former railroad station on Front Street. The Arlington location opened in February 2020, shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, forcing them to utilize only online ordering. Brandon Hurtado’s experience in digital marketing at ANKR Agency helped the company focus specifically on growing their online business with pre-orders, deliveries and curbside pickup.

A short time later, Brandon and Hannah announced that they would open a second location in Little Elm, Texas, creating a 7,000+ square foot hub for Tex-Mex barbecue north of Dallas. With expanded hours, state of the art equipment and a full bar, Hurtado Barbecue in Little Elm opened in June 2022.

Fast forward to July 2022, the Hurtado family announced they would once again expand their business, this time to Southside Fort Worth, Texas, taking over the former Derek Allen’s Barbecue location. Hurtado Barbecue Fort Worth opened in September 2022 with expanded hours for breakfast and lunch to serve the local hospital community and beyond.

This growth has made Hurtado Barbecue one of the fastest growing independently-owned barbecue brands in the entire state, with an additional concession location inside of the Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Field at Arlington Eats in Section 101.

We love the local feel. Came early and beat the rush. Nice touch with pick your spot - inside, outside patio, or bar across the patio. The smoked potato was perfect. I think I heard the word "devine". Good portions of brisket and sausage. I loved the brussel sprouts. Service was outstanding, fast, and friendly. We'll be back...

I had a Friday off so I went hunting for some great BBQ. I ended up at Hurtado Barbecue because they opened earlier than a couple of locations and was glad I arrived as early as I did as the line just kept growing. While the line did not move very fast we steadily made progress towards the magical spot with all the food. I ordered the Texas Trinity which was 1/3 pound each of brisket, sausage, and ribs. I chose the mac and cheese for my side and headed outside to enjoy my mound of meat. The BBQ had excellent flavor and you could tell immediately that it was special. I really like adding BBQ sauce to my meat normally, but I just did not need it. I worked on it diligently but started feeling the meat coma starting about halfway through. I boxed up the rest and took it home where my leftovers were just as good. Hurtado is a classic Texas BBQ by people who care about putting out an outstanding product. I would recommend adding Hurtado to your places to try the BBQ.

Wow… just wow. I was recommended Hurtado’s but didn’t really know what to expect. I’d never heard of it (not from here remember?) but I think that made my experience better… I had no hype no nothing just an empty stomach. This place is rightfully one of the Top 100 cue places in Texas. The meat is very well executed. I had the Texas Trinity, brisket, ribs, and sausage. Damn good brother, I tell you whooooaaat! I highly recommend and will be back! Gracias y’all!
